The United Bull Breed Association came about after discussion of a group of like minded people wanting to initiate a 'club with a difference', since we all owned, loved or had an allegiance with a Bull type breed we came up with the idea of a Club catering to breeds with their origins from the Bull type dog.
It is aimed at bull breed enthusiasts. It's goals are to promote the positive aspects of the nine NZKC recognised "Bull Breeds" to pet owners, dog showers and breeders, while encouraging and educating people on all aspects of the breeds, especially health, temperament and well being.
The list of NZKC Recognised Breeds were investigated, culminating in the following nine breeds:
American Staffordshire Terrier
Boston Terrier
Boxer
Bulldog
Bullmastiff
Bull Terrier
Bull Terrier - Miniature
French Bulldog
Staffordshire Bull Terrier
The Inaugural Meeting was held in 2014 and the Club was formed.
In 2016 it was recognised and accepted into New Zealand Kennel Club
